Mazuri Chinchilla Food

One of the most loved brands of pellet feeds by chinchillas, made by Purina Mills, is Mazuri Chinchilla Food. We previously fed our chinchillas Mazuri Chinchilla Food for years, as it can be fed to them from when they’re young all the way until adulthood.

These alfalfa based pellets include all the amino acids and vitamins that a chinchilla will need. Chinchillas have chosen Mazuri Chinchilla Food over other foods when given the option during many split tests, showing that it’s quite palatable. This food is quite convenient as well, because there’s no need to provide any other supplement with it.

Buy Mazuri Chinchilla Food

The unfortunate part of all of this is that Mazuri Chinchilla Food must be ordered online as it isn’t available in pet shops. However, it is extremely cheap and comes to your door if you buy it through Amazon where the shipping is free when you buy in large quantities.

Feeding Directions

Feed to chinchillas as a full ration. Ten pounds of this food can usually last about half a year per chinchilla. The only other thing you should provide with it is good quality hay, so it doesn’t chew its own fur.

How to Store Mazuri Chinchilla Food

Mazuri Chinchilla Diet should be kept in a dry place that isn’t too warm or is it able to absorb any odors. We suggest that it should be kept in glass jars in the refrigerator so it can stay fresh, but it is possible to freeze for later use, even though it’s not at all recommended.
